Hope everyone is having a wonderful night ringing in the New Year! I can't believe it is 2007. Cary is with a bunch of our youth at a Nuggets game tonight. I was supposed to be there, but yesterday morning, I got up to go to the bathroom and tripped and fell. So now I have a bum foot and am on crutches. Yuck! Not only does it hurt, but I can't do anything, and I have so much to do in the next 6 weeks to get ready for Caden! We had to go to the ER in Houston on Saturday, and they did xrays and checked Caden because I had fallen. Nothing is broken, and Caden seemed to be doing well when they were monitoring him. The docs think that I tore some ligaments, but they said I just need to stay off it for a few weeks. If it doesn't get better by then, I'll have to go see an orthopedic surgeon or a pediatrist....I so don't have time for it to be something major... I'm praying that it heals really fast, so I can at least get some things done in time. Plus, poor Carson doesn't understand why I'm not doing as much for him. Anyway, if you think about it, pray that I get better fast!
Houston was so much fun! We had such a great time spending time with Cary's family and our friends, and Carson loved getting to know everyone better. Carson was so much fun at Christmas, and really got into unwrapping his presents. In fact, the word "presents" will grab his attention now no matter what he is doing. Christmas was wonderful, and we have all been absolutely spoiled! :) We came home with 6 bags to check and then had Christmas with my family this morning! Good thing Cary has elite status on our airline or getting home would have cost a fortune!!! Cary combined my Christmas gift with a gift that he was going to give me when Caden was born, and I got gorgeous 1/2 carat princess cut diamond earings! :) I have pictures to post, but I can't get to my camera right now...I'll post them soon.
Happy New Year everyone!! :)

Christmas has begun
Christmas has begun for the Yocum's. We had lunch with my grandparents last Friday so that we could exchange gifts. It was a great time, and Carson LOVES his gifts! They got him an old fashioned Radio Flyer wooden trike. It's the cutest thing and Carson is riding it constantly! He even tries to take it with us when we go places. I've never seen him so attached to anything! They also got him a toddler sized recliner, and he LOVES it! He always wants to sit on it, and will stop anything he's doing if he thinks that someone or something else might be in it. It is definitely HIS chair.
Tomorrow, Carson and I will be getting on a plane and heading to Houston. We are so excited to get to spend time with our family there and see friends again. It has been much to long! Cary flew out last night for a quick business trip in Miami, and will be joining Carson and I in Houston on Thursday. I can't wait to see him! I hope everyone elses Christmas celebrations are off to a good start! Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Home again
I suppose I should update...
We are home now, of course - and I have a fun picture from our luau that I need to post, but I've been to lazy to scan it in. We had such a good time on our trip! Then last Friday, Cary and I went to Salt Lake City for his office Christmas Party. He and I and our friends Joey and Natalie made a weekend out of it, and we had a great time catching up! Cary and I spent the day together Saturday and found Carson's christmas outfit - an oh so cute sweater that will make him look SO grown up, and Caden's coming home outfit, which is SO cute and absolutely tiny!! Here's the jumper, and we got a shirt and hat to match.
Then on Sunday, we had our church Christmas party, which is always a blast with the variety show. Carson was so excited that we were home from our weekend, and he seems to have learned so much in just 2 days. It's funny how that happens.
Oh, we had another prenatal appointment last Tuesday, and all is well. My weight is fine, and Caden's heartbeat was a strong 150. I had to do my glucose test, and I actually like the drink so I can't complain to much. :) We go back in 4 weeks, so by then I'll be 34 weeks or close to it. I can't believe we are so close to the end... I hope everything comes together on the house. I think it will, and Cary promises it will, so here's holding out hope! :) Cary is working hard getting tile laid in the kitchen this week, and then we leave Tuesday for Houston. I'm getting really excited, and I can't believe that Christmas is so close!!! I love traveling, but I do have to say that it is beginning to wear on my very pregnant body. I think my increased braxton hicks contractions have been mostly due to our busy schedule, but they are annoying none the less. I'm glad that our trip to Houston will be an extended 10 day trip, and not a rushed one...it might send me into labor! :) Just kidding folks, we're hanging in there for the long haul, I'm pretty sure.
Oh speaking of labor, we also have our hospital tour tomorrow, and I'm really excited about that. From what I can tell from the online tour, the prenatal ward at the hospital I'm delivering at is closer to a hotel with good room service than a hospital. Yay for that! It makes it almost worth it that we have to drive an hour to get there - as long as we make it on D-day! :)

Maui - Saturday
Today its been pretty rainy, but still fairly warm, so we headed to the Shops at Wailea which is just down the road. It's this VERY upscale outdoor mall. It was fun, and Cary found sunglasses that he liked that were 70% off. Needless to say, he was very excited about his find. Then we went to Polo beach where Cary and Carson played in the surf, and I sat on the beach with a good book. It was a nice day for sure. :) Then tonight, we went to Lahaina and ate a very yummy dinner at Kimo's on the beach and after that we visited the shops nearby. It was so fun! Tomorrow we are planning on hanging out as long as possible at the beach, then we will pack our things up and hopefully go to a luau...I'm sure I will have TONS of pictures! :) Then we will be boarding our red eye at 11:30 PM - hopefully Carson and Cary and I will be able to get some shut eye during our flight!
I have learned that having cute hair in Maui is nearly impossible with all of the salt and humidity. I have gotten ready every morning just like normal, only to have my hair turn into it's naturally wavy gross self - it looks quite old ladyish when it's this short and not fixed. Oh well... BUT! I know I am in need of a belly picture anyway, so here are a couple that Cary took for me on our lanai this morning. It was really overcast, so these turned out kind of weird, but they will have to do. Here are Caden and I in Hawaii at 29 weeks and 2 days.
Oh, I posted twice today, and the post below has tons of fun pictures, so don't miss it. :)

Maui Picturepalooza - Friday
We had so much fun on Cary's day off. We spent most of the day on a drive to Hana, which is a 2 hour gorgeous drive through the hawaiian mountains on a very curvy, very small road that at times is barely wide enough for one vehicle. Cary loved every minute, while I enjoyed a few views and felt like I was either going to hyperventalate or throw up. Carson did pretty well and slept for a bit both on the way there and on the way back. Once we made it to Hana, we picknicked, stopped at several roadside fruitstands, and visited several blacksand beaches - which were amazing! The coolest one by far was in the Hana National Park, and we have lots of pictures of that one. I couldn't believe how beautiful everything was. Then after freshening up, we had dinner at a little mexican place called Fred's that had the best Mahi Mahi tacos! Yum! Then we shopped a little and had really good white chocolate macadamia nut ice cream. It was such a fun day!!
And these are at the black sand beach at the national park in Hana:
Carson became quite the ham with all of our picture taking:
The waves were crashing up about 20+ feet where Cary and Carson were looking. I kept trying to get Carson's attention, but he couldn't take his eyes off of the waves...who can blame him :)
On the same beach, there were these caves that are called lava tubes because they were formed when the lava from the eruptions burned holes through the rocks all the way down to the ocean. They are huge and so cool!
