We wanted to get out of the house on Saturday night, so we decided to take the boys bowling. Our friends Chad and Erica joined us, and it was such a fun night! We're all total pros, you know...especially me on my crutches. :) Bad mommy forgot my camera, but Erica had hers and came to the rescue. It really was fun. Carson was ultra competitive and wasn't quite pleased unless he got a strike or a spare, which he actually did a few times! Caden was clueless and just happy to be there. He even tried the "kicking" bowling method a few times. So funny. I don't think he even cared if the ball made it to the end of the lane as long as he got to participate. That is SO Caden! We had so much fun.

Not Quite Yet
I'm not quite back on my feet, umm...foot... but I'm heading that direction. The doc gave me clearance as of tomorrow (yeah, so I'm cheating...) to start baring 25 pounds on my foot, and then I can add an additional 25 pounds every 3 days until I'm walking without the need of crutches. I get a walking boot on December 10th, so hopefully I'll be getting around well by that point.
I realized the other day that in the wake of all of this, I have neglected to take Carter's 1 year pictures...bad Mommy. He's nearly 15 months old now...so bad...poor third child. So...I attempted to take pictures of him a few days ago...I knew that since I can't walk, they probably wouldn't turn out how I wanted, and I was right...I spent much of my time seeing the backside of him as he sped away, but it was fun to try anyway, and I have hope that as I can bare weight on my leg, I'll be heading back to client sessions and chasing my kids around in no time. (I know Cary, for one, is VERY ready for that!) :)

Halloween 2009
Since dress up is a big thing around here, I knew Halloween would be a ton of fun this year. I was so excited about the boys costumes, and they were too...well except for Carter...but he warmed up to the idea. The first three times I put Carters head piece on he worked with all his might to tear it off until he found success...very funny to watch. Our tradition each year is to trick-or-treat at my parents house and then around their neighborhood before heading to Chuck E. Cheese with our church. We take over the place each year, and it's really fun. Competition is always big, and the kids have so much fun they all but forget about the candy.
Here are some pictures ... lots of pictures ... from this year's Halloween fun.
The Knight, The Pirate, and The Little Green Monster.
I LOVE this picture that so accurately shows how little Caden is.... and how independent and BIG he wants to be.
You might remember the story from a while back where my dad had the conversation with Carson about him wanting to be a knight for Halloween....well, when we showed up to trick-or-treat at my parents house, we found out that he followed through...
Day & Knight:
We tried to explain to Carson that knights don't traditionally wear their eye/face guards down as chin guards, but there was no convincing him. :)
AAARGGGGHHHH!
Caden is such a cute little pirate....this is his serious face.
He was excited about something....probably pumpkins....
The gorgeous sunset as we were heading back to the car:
