Our Sweet Sweet Carson

Hi everybody! Sorry for the belated update. Things have been very busy at our place lately, and when they are not, we are sleeping. :) Carson is the sweetest baby ever. He is doing so well and already has us on a fairly regular 3 hour schedule of eating and sleeping. He has really made this easy on us so far. He is just the best baby. Oh, and as many of you have already heard from Cary, labor went very well, and I was able to make it without the epidural like I had hoped - although just barely! :) It really was a great experience all around, and I felt better almost immediately after Carson was born. I would definitely do it again without any changes, and that is a great feeling.

I'm sure I will update more on this note later, but for now, I will leave you all with many pictures of our sweet boy Carson.

Here is Carson, Cary and I just after he was born.

Big News

Our appointment today went well. I'm now dilated to 3 cm. Our doctor's greeting to us today was - "So, I hear you were having contractions," to which I nodded. "So why didn't you call me?" She said that if we had called, we would have had our baby Sunday night - MAN!!! She then told us that we had three options. 1. Wait and see what happens, but he is getting big. 2. We could wait until contractions began again like Sunday, come in, and she would break my water. or 3. Set an appointment and come in for pitocin. She suggested option 3 because it is less invasive and easier to control than breaking my water. I also would hate it if my mom wasn't here because we waited. Also, since it looks like Carson is going to be a big kid, she doesn't advise me waiting much at all. She also said that because of how much progress I have made already, it would probably take a very small dose to get me going. SOOOO....long story short, we are going in tomorrow morning at 7 to receive pitocin. Looks like we'll have a baby tomorrow! Can't wait and I'll post pictures soon!!!

Please pray for me as I am feeling quite nervous in all of this excitement!

UUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!

Carson tricked us.

Sunday night at about 6:30, contractions started at 5 minutes apart like clock-work, and they were totally the real thing. They weren't so painful that I couldn't talk through them yet, but after a few hours, I called my mom to give her an update, since I knew if she were coming she would have to change her flight. By 9:45, they were still strong and mom hopped on a plane. Unfortunately, by 1 a.m. they had totally stalled and I was only getting a couple an hour. They went from 5-4 minutes apart to nothing just like that. So frustrating. So, since we were all up until about 4 in the morning, I took yesterday off and me and mom went shopping and walked all day, which spurred more contractions, but nothing substantial. I'm back at work today and I am totally cranky because I would much rather be in the hospital right now - ha - that's funny. In any case, mom is here now, so when I do go into labor, I won't have to worry if Carson comes quickly. I figure with all of those contractions, we must have made some progress. We have our regular appointment Thursday morning, but here's hoping for hospital food soon. :) We'll let you all know as soon as anything exciting happens!

On a brighter note, be praying for our friend's David & Staci. They are in the hospital being induced as we speak. Be praying for a healthy baby, a happy mom and a safe delivery. Can't wait to meet Julia Faith!!

Weekly Update

Well, I just got back from my appointment, and all is well. We have made progress and I am now 70% effaced and dilated to a 2. I was a little disheartened at first because as far as numbers are concerned, this isn't much of a difference, but then I figured, how much closer do I think I will get before I'm really in labor. Then mom told me that I've already gone further than she ever did before she was in labor, so that was encouraging. The doc also said that she would see me next week if not before, but that she didn't think I'd make it that far. If by chance I do, at my next visit, we'll talk about how to speed things up :( I so don't want to take that route!! I also asked if it was possible that I could into labor this weekend, to which she kind of smirked and said "Well, anything is possible. I would prefer it not happen on Friday on Saturday, but Thursday or Sunday would be fine." Okay, I'll make a note of that! :) It turns out she will be out of town on those days, so I wouldn't be able to have her deliver Carson. So you hear that, Carson? Thursday or Sunday, but not in between! Hee hee - too bad it's not that easy! Really, though, it would be very beneficial for labor to come this weekend, because my sister is in Waxahachie until Monday, and I'd really like for her to get to meet Carson before he's several months old. The rest of my family is on call, and my grandparents are coming down next weekend - so see how perfect the timing would be!! Oh, another fun thing, my Grammy delivered my mom on Mother's Day weekend - how fun it would be for history to repeat itself!!
Come on Carson!! We're ready for you!!!! :)

Still playing the waiting game! :)

Which Incredibles character are you?

We're still hanging in there. This weekend was fun and relaxing. Got to hang out with Cary and some friends - we all went golfing and I drove the golf cart through every divit I could find :) Fun, fun! Oh, and we went and saw "The Interpreter" with Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. Great movie, but there is one random scene you should close your eyes through - I still don't know what the purpose of that scene was - and no, the afore mentioned characters were not in it. I hate that, by the way, when crude scenes are included in movies for no apparent reason. It was still good though.

Oh, in case you were wondering - I'm officially a humongaloid prego - but I still have an "innie" :) I plan on taking at least one more prego pic before the trip to the hospital - I'll post it here when I do and I'm sure you will all be rightly shocked. :)

Happy Monday everyone!
